This past week I was able to join a group of firemen from Alabama to minister to the Quechua people high in the Andes mountains. Life is simple and hard for the people here with the cold climate and lack of resources. For four days we washed feet, passed out new shoes, and shared the love of Christ with both children and adults. Every day we went to a different village doing Happy Feet. You can see the pics of the kids lining up to receive shoes. It was quite an experience and was definitely extreme! We camped at 12,500 feet with no hot water, very cold temps, and lots of guinea pig! Here are some pics of the week. Hope you enjoy them. --Greg

Nothing like a fabulous camping trip with some guinea pig legs to chew on and hotel a la cement. :) It was good to chat with you last night. Great pictures; what a view! Hope you guys feel better soon.

Well, your pictures give a real sense of the living conditions and cold temperatures there. The older people's faces show the test of time and the harsh living conditions they have. The children all look so happy though. Glad that you made it back from your expedition into the mountains. Those pictures are great - What a mountain! Hope you and Amy are feeling better today. How about those sox!!! 4 in a row again. A celebration over roasted guina pig doesn't quite sound like what you might have had in mind. You'll have to build some sox fans there for next year. We had a great celebration too on the soccer field. My JV team just won the state title - beat Hendricken 1-0. Wish you could have been there with me. Hope you both are feeling better and we send our love.

I cant imagine camping 12,000 feet up. I think I would have froze!!! You know how I love the cold !! But so worth the cold to see what you are doing!!!We are so comfortable with our lives that we forget how many people live such hard lives and its people like yourselves that can make a difference in their lives.
